Many common synthetic textiles are petroleum-derived. Our preference is to use materials that better match Qadr’s goals around comfort, breathability, feel and considered production.

Where available, we may select materials carrying recognized certifications or testing standards such as OEKO-TEX or GOTS.

Certification varies by material and supplier, so a certification should only be considered applicable where it is specifically stated for that fabric or product.

Many Qadr headwear designs, particularly undercaps and silk pieces, are developed with softness, friction and comfortable daily wear in mind.

This is particularly important for women who wear hijab for extended periods.

Smooth fabrics such as silk can create less friction against the hair than rougher surfaces. Reducing friction may help reduce mechanical stress on the hair during wear.

Upcycling allows us to give new purpose to existing materials, including suitable leftover fabrics and carefully sourced unused textiles.

The aim is simple: use good material thoughtfully rather than allowing it to go to waste.

They can be. Upcycled pieces may be produced in very limited quantities and slight variations can occur depending on the available material.

That individuality forms part of the story of the piece.

Qadr pieces are made in Poland in small batches with attention to construction, fit and finishing.

Our approach prioritizes considered production over rushing large quantities of product.

Collections and selected pieces may be released in smaller quantities rather than very large production runs.
